Established in 1989, The multi-award winning winery will not only amaze you with their premium wines but also their stunning panoramic views over Westernport Bay. And don't just take my word for it; “Best view of any vineyard in the world”- according to Ian Sutton- former CEO of Australian Winemakers Federation!
Yes, the view is that good.
But, not only is the view a reason you should take a trip down to Red Hill Estate, the incredible staff really bring the place to life. Friendly yet professional. Nick, one of their staff members is gorgeous in many ways. Accommodating and very informative.
Wine tastings are situated in an old wine storage shed. Barrels are stacked up across the back wall, while the front provides an extensive gift shop with local cheeses, deli products and novelty wine gifts. Gather yourself around the (oak oval) bench and begin your tasting. There are up to 15 wines to sip all for the price of $5.
Let me repeat, A $5 tasting of 15 wines!
I can guarantee after your tasting, you’ll want to take a bottle or two home with you. If this is the case and you can’t remember which of the 4 Pinot Gris tickled your tastebuds with that limestone complexity, there are tasting notes and order forms on the bench for your convenience.
If you visit in the cooler months, don’t panic, there is a roaring wood heater filling the room with a toasty temperature. Or you can pop up into the highly-rated “Max’s” restaurant, which is located on the top rise to take full advantage of the view.
