Have you really been to the Mornington Peninsula if you haven’t been to Pt Leo Estate? From the captivating architecture upon entry, followed by views of rolling vineyards and a backdrop right out across the ocean to Western Port and Philip Island, Pt Leo is an experience in itself.
With its timeless, minimalist design stepping into Pt Leo Estate is a wine lovers dream. A collision of art, fine dining, architecture and award-winning wines satisfy even the most well-travelled wine lover. With an air of sophistication, the Pt Leo Cellar door staff are second to none when it comes to hospitality and knowledge. Let them guide you through a generous flight of five wines, which is both delicious and an education at the same time.
Dine at the restaurant which offers magnificent views and showcases the best local produce of the local area. ‘Laura’ as the restaurant is affectionately known, has a gentle buzz about her. Whilst always full and lively, the wide open-spaces ensure a relaxed feel is always maintained as well. For a more casual dining experience, they also offer tapas style food, overlooking the 50-hectare vineyard. Accompany this with live music over the weekend, and you have yourself a pretty perfect afternoon!
Once you are all wined and dined, be sure to check out the ever-growing sculpture park, which houses over 50 stunning pieces of art from both Australian and International artists. Pt Leo Estate has been in the Gandel family for 25 years, and owners John and Pauline see the estate as a tribute to the love for the region. Once a private family escape, it has now been developed into a multi-tiered experience for everyone to enjoy. There’s plenty of room to bring along the kids and enjoy a few wines and a cheese board with friends and family.
Our personal favourite wines here are the 2018 Shiraz and 2018 Chardonnay, the cool-maritime climate of the region ensures the perfect growing conditions for these wines.
If you’ve already visited Pt Leo Estate, you’ll understand why we love it! It would be awesome if you would take a few minutes to leave a review for them.
Haven’t been yet but sold already? Perfect! Hops and Barrels can take you to Pt.Leo Estate as part of their hop on hop off timetable. If you would like to eat at the restaurant, advance bookings are essential and the Hops and Barrels team would be delighted to organise this for you.
