Owners Greg and Sue go above and beyond with every aspect of Green Olive. The thriving farm shop opened their doors in 2010 ready to showcase their perfect produce. Growing olives, grapes, veggies and herbs while farming a flock of animals, to now hosting cooking classes, events and unique wine tasting out of a decked-out caravan, this little beauty has everything you’re looking for.
As if you are not already sold you will find some very special characters at Green Olive. Two Kelpies (Rasa and Indi) and two Maremmas (Pisa and Baci).
The farmgate providore is set amongst the curving slopes of neat olive groves. The perfectly laid out barn shed is filled with the rich smells of fabulous foods and coffee, with the added bonus of take-home chutneys, jams, bottled wines and of course, all things ‘olives’- including beautiful olive -based creams, soaps and oils.
With a menu full of mouth-watering tapas, it’s hard to decide which foods will spark your heart and soul. But what you must try is the Tasting platters. Overflowing with the chef's selections of farm-grown olives, olive oil, tapenade and ciabatta. Or get your hands on their juicy lamb sausages dressed with garden herbs, fennel seeds and capsicum relish.
Living by the paddock-to-plate philosophy will ensure you that your tasty food is fresh and made with the utmost care.
Greg and Sue are trying to create a 100% edible landscape, meaning the food you’re eating is made from produce grown on the sustainable farm or from the local area.
Enjoy this piece of paradise while immersing yourself in the beautiful views over the dam, vineyard watching the sheep graze in the paddock or sit amongst the veggie garden with an array of tapas and glass of wine.
Hops and Barrels are committed to working alongside families like Greg and Sue’s, and by joining us, you can also sip their Pinot contently, knowing you are contributing to a families dream.
We’re very grateful to support such genuine, inspiring people who are committed to giving our guests an experience they won’t forget (unless they have one too many wines 😉). If you’ve wined and dined with us here before, you’ll know exactly what we mean.
